Taking to her Instagram stories, the 24-year-old posted a photo of a hospital bed, alongside the caption: “I had a severe stroke this am. I started breaking down crying when they told me.”
In the next slide, she posted a selfie, covering her face with text that read: “Like I’m only 24 what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”
No further information was given, however, Cori has suffered from auto-immune disease lupus from an early age.
In an interview with PEOPLE in September last year, the CEO of beauty brand Choc Factory said “I’ve been good, better than I’ve ever been,” after taking a more ‘holistic’ approach.
Although she was “doing good” she also wanted people to understand that the disease is a “constant battle.”
“I have days where I’m sick, but I’m still blessed and able to do what I love to do and to tell my story,” she told the publication, saying she has some days she questions what it would be like to be a “normal girl.”
“It’s part of being human. You’re going to have bad days, you’re not going to always have good days,” she stated.
Cori’s fiance calls her the ‘strongest person’ he knows
Cori’s fiance, Wayne Deuce has taken to his Instagram story to show support to his partner during the difficult time. He shared a picture of himself hugging his partner alongside the caption: “Strongest person I know.”
The couple announced their engagement in 2022, with Cori calling it the ‘easiest decision’ of her life. Wayne, who is the creative director for the Choc Factory beauty line, popped the question at a family event, with a huge “Will you marry me?” sign.
Later on that night, Deuce posted a photo of his father with Snoop Dogg, which he captioned: “Pops in law and Pops.”
