Kathryn Hahn is returning to our screens with a brand-new television show this week (and no, it’s not Agatha: Coven of Chaos, at least, not yet). Hahn stars in the new limited series Tiny Beautiful Things based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed. Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern serve as executive producers on the show, so you know it’s destined to be good.
The series will be adapted by Little Fires Everywhere EP Liz Tigelaar. Strayed’s previous book, Wild, was also adapted by Witherspoon into the 2014 movie, which earned both Witherspoon and Dern an Academy Award nomination.
In Tiny Beautiful Things, Hahn plays a struggling writer named Clare. Clare’s home life isn’t much better than her career, with her marriage limping along and her teen daughter Rae keeping her at arm’s length. When a colleague asks her to take over as the advice columnist, “Dear Sugar,” Clare is apprehensive, but as she begins to help her readers, Clare also starts to help herself.
Netflix is home to several great Kathryn Han projects, like the touching movie Private Life co-starring Paul Giamatti and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, so we understand why you might expect her latest project, Tiny Beautiful Things, to be available on the platform. However, the new series is not a Netflix title and will not be on the streamer.
Tiny Beautiful Things will premiere on Friday, April 7, on Hulu. All eight episodes of the limited series will be released simultaneously. Episodes are approximately 30 minutes in length. You will need a Hulu subscription to watch the series, as it will not be streaming anywhere else.
Do you have a Hulu subscription already? Are you planning to get one to watch Kathryn Hahn’s new series?
